Happy Birthday!

It's close to Dustin's Birthday! He'll be turning seventy-three on August 8th. Plus, it's kind of the websites first birthday. Sort of a double celebration. Because of the approaching dates, some weeks ago I made him a video tribute. Here's to you Mr. Hoffman and other Dustin fans! Hope you like it!

Fockers I guess the rumors where true you guys. Here's the new trailer for Little Fockers and Dustin's name isn't in the cast and he's not shown in the preview: Trailer

To be honest, it doesn't look that funny. I love Meet The Fockers but this one seems...yeah, dead...we still have hope though. I've heard that IMDB has been wrong before, but they still have his name listed in the credits. Maybe we can hope for a special short apperance?

Nightwork

Dustin's name has been linked to the new movie Nightwork which is based on a 1975 novel of the same name by Irwin Shaw. It's about a man who runs to Europe after coming across a large amount of money. You can read more

Hollywood For the past week I haven't updated anything new because I happened to be on a vacation. The last day I happened t be in LA and, of course, tried seeing Hollywood. I walked down the famous walk of fame sidewalk trying to see Dustin's star and never found it. It was possibly five miles along, so of course I didn't have time to see all of it. My mom got annoyed at one point and demanded we go back to the hotel, so thus ended my search. I didn't even have time to look in the gift shops. But while there I got maps of the road and tried to see where his star was. And also his handprints. And...what do you know? His star was not listed. It had to be come mistake. Some stupid mistake. If The Olsen Twins and Big Bird can get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame surley Dustin would be on there also. But just a couple of hours ago I looked on the internet and found these: 1 2

Guess what? He had NO star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Unless those both are out of date. I also saw some article talking about how Dustin, along with Paul Newman and others, did not have stars. So if anyone can come forward and tell me he has one I would love to hear that. The best I got is...this from a gift shop:

Along with his star I never found his handprints sadly. While I was there I also went to this new wax museum. And what am I to find but...

That's an ugly photo of me on my part. The whole time they kept playing his line, "Mrs. Robinson, you're trying to seduce me!" over and over again on one of the speakers. This is really the only closest thing I ever got to the real Dustin Hoffman. But I didn't even savor the moment since I was too busy trying to find his star (Which isn't even there!!!) So, apparently I've just read that the latest news on the show is that they are filming the show right now in Santa Anita, CA. They're not sure, but they say the air date for the pilot will be airing early in 2011. Too loooonnnnggg.......

Dustin to direct recent news (I'm surprised how many there's been over the past couple of weeks lol) surrounds that Dustin is going to direct a movie intitled Quarlet based on a 1999 stage comedy. A statement from thr web at Online Mail says:

"Hoffman was in Los Angeles over the Oscar weekend at the opulent West Hollywood branch of Soho House, thrashing out last-minute details of a deal to direct Quartet, set in a retirement home for opera singers in the Home Counties."

BAFTA Awards Extremely recently the BAFTA awards took place in London and Dustin went there to present awards. Apparently he was very frightened of speaking in public as sources say and forgot some of his speech. Here's what he had to say to the topic:

"I still get terrible stage fright. I think it's an adrenaline thing but I get so scared and (Sunday night) was really bad. I do usually try to prepare a speech for things like this, but I have to admit that the last four lines of my speech were written by BAFTA and I had to ad-lib the rest. I got nervous, see."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------Italian Commericals Are usually things I disregard anyhow. Here is a late commerical Dustin did for a channel that aired in Italy.

It's hard to understand why anyone would expect much then, but apparently the Italians do. Dustin's new commerical that advocates tourism in the coastal Marche region of Italy is said to have sparked negative remarks from Italian Newspapers who report Dustin's Italian as nothing too remarkable. This is not starting off to be a good year for Mr. Hoffman, but I would like to add my two cents regarding that:

A.) Dustin is not native to Italy, so obviously his Italian isn't going to be brilliant.

B.) He's not EVEN Italian (As far as I know). He is a Polish Jew.

C.) Well, who cares. In the commerical he's stumbling over the words anyway. That's kind of the point.

D.) OBVIOUSLY there is SOMETHING the Italians like about him since if you look at the majority of the commericals he's DONE across the world they are mostly Italian.

But what are you goanna do?
