Location: Minnesota, USA
I was born in Colombia, a country located in South America, in 1991. After two months, I was adopted by a couple from the USA. Throughout my life, in the cold state of Minnesota, I had always been interested in the arts, from drawing, to writing, and now to acting. I've only recently, for about two years, have been a big movie buff. I've often heard of Dustin Hoffman but was never really aware of him. To me, he was really like any other actor on screen. I was a big fan of actors like Gary Oldman and Al Pacino and since Dustins performances would constantly be compared to theirs by amatuer web critics, I wanted to see what this man could do. At a young age I had seen Hook, but never knew who Dustin was. The real first movie I saw, only for him, was probably The Graduate. I then saw more and more movies like Kramer vs. Kramer, Tootsie, Rain Man, and Midnight Cowboy. To be honest, I never knew what was so brilliant about him. I was constantly watching his every move and when it didn't meet up to my expectations, I would criticize him, yet I kept watching. After seeing more of his movies, getting to know his characters by a second watch, (and when I stopped being a dumbass) I started to become aware of how great and gifted of an actor he really was. I always have thought that he was the kind of actor whom you really have to know who his characters in order to know how great of an actor he is (If that makes sense). I'm an aspiring actress and Dustin is, at the moment, one of my biggest influences. His ability to convey his character's biggest and most important subliminal messages through his body, voice, and emotions like Rico Ratso, Thomas Levy, Raymond, etc. still inspire me as far as acting goes. I really hope this website will fill any hole that other Dustin Hoffman fans may feel when going on the net and finding not much about him.
